| We Can't Do It Without You...
Do you have a favorite place or activity that is distinctive to the Greater Yellowstone region? Or maybe several of them? The National Geographic Society is producing a Geotourism MapGuide of Greater Yellowstone and, with the help of its local partners, is seeking nominations from the public for places and experiences to include in the publication due out in early 2009. Nominations will be accepted through June 30, 2008.

| MapGuides are different from standard tourist maps because their aim is to foster travel that sustains or enhances the geographical character of a placeits environment, culture, aesthetics, and heritage, and the well-being of its residents. National Geographic calls this “geotourism.”
The Greater Yellowstone MapGuide, created through a collaborative process, will highlight the natural, historic, and cultural assets unique to the area. In this partnership, our region benefits from National Geographic’s considerable map-making expertise. But the project cannot work without input from people like you who know what makes this place truly unique and noteworthy.
Join in. Make a nomination. Learn more at one of the community forums and presentations being scheduled around the region. Help National Geographic tell the story about what sets this region apart, and what we most need to maintain for the future.
