| What do you think belongs in the MapGuide?
The heart of the MapGuide is, of course, the map. The MapGuide will be a two-sided, featuring two maps that highlight the region's unique historical, cultural, scenic, recreational, and natural assets. The map entries will be drawn from sites and events nominated by the region's residents and visitors. (To make nominations, click on the "Nominate a Site" button in the menu above.)
In the finished MapGuide, text, quotations, and photographs surrounding the maps will explore themes important to understanding the Greater Yellowstone region.
The early draft map pictured below (or download a full-sized version here) offers both a sneak peak at the look, feel, and extent of the map, and an opportunity to provide your guidance about important themes to explore and resources within the region to draw upon for quotations, photographs, and expert input.
We invite you to download the map and e-mail us with your ideas about the following questions:
1) What topics or themes should be covered in text and quotations?
2) What resources (people, websites, books, etc.) might the map writers use to learn more about these topics?
3) Are there specific photographs or photographers we should consider tapping for map images?
We appreciate your suggestions.
